Sarah Bowett was born and educated in Norfolk, England, UK. She studied Art at the Norwich School of Art, UK before gaining her BA (Hons) in Sculpture at Loughborough College of Art and Design, UK and a postgraduate in Cyprus School of Art.

Having pursued a career in publishing, Sarah and her journalist husband have travelled and lived in Hong Kong, Brussels and New York. During the 7 years in Brussels, Sarah returned to her life interest – Art.

Images of big Norfolk skies have always remained important to Sarah, reflecting moods and light conditions. The intensity of light and colour inspire her, whether it be in landscape, still life or the nude form.

As a largely experimental artist, she may use collage or 3 dimensional work to express the nature of her surroundings, using digital photography too. Found objects, chunks of wood, fabric and past drawings all find their way into her pieces.

In 2005 Sarah was awarded the Syd Davison Memorial Award by the West Norfolk Artists Association.  Sarah is a member of the West Norfolk Artists Association and a juried member of the Mamaroneck Artists Guild in New York. Currently living in Norfolk with her family, Sarah is teaching Art in a local school and painting those vivid Norfolk skies once more.
